Dental and vision insurance can help make important health care services more affordable. With these plans, you typically pay a lower rate for preventive dental care, such as regular cleanings and check-ups, as well as other treatments like fillings, X-rays, root canals and crowns. Vision insurance may also cover routine eye exams, as well as glasses or contact lenses.

Generally, dental and vision insurance plans have different levels of coverage for each type of treatment. Some may include a co-payment or co-insurance amount that you must pay out of pocket in addition to the premium you pay to keep your plan active. It’s important to review your plan’s coverage and determine what expenses will be covered, as well as any limitations or exclusions that may apply.

It is also important to know that dental and vision plans typically have a yearly maximum benefit amount. This means that there is a limit on how much the plan will pay out in benefits each year, so you will need to plan your care accordingly and be aware of the total expected cost.

Finally, dental and vision plans may have a waiting period before certain services are covered. During this waiting period, you may not be able to access certain benefits or treatments until a predetermined amount of time has passed since you purchased the plan. Retiring is a very stressful time. Setting up your healthcare is beyond stressful. UNLESS, you have Robin in your corner. I am self employed but I had gotten my healthcare through wife for years. So when she retired, I had to change my healthcare too. I went into this extremely suspect!!!! I told Robin, it's not that I don't trust you, I don't trust anyone! A few years ago, I attended one of the Medicare information sessions provided for the employees who were approaching retirement. The invited speaker was Robin Tefft, owner of Senior Benefits and Beyond. Robin made a fantastic presentation and people asked for guidance on Medicare and how to navigate it during the Q&A sessions. Once I decided to retire recently, the most important concern was to switch from my employer sponsored health insurance to Medicare. Enrollment into Medicare Part B, Supplement or Medicare Advantage, and Medicare Part D was much more complicated than I originally thought. Having realized that this was not something I could do myself, I contacted Robin’s office and spoke to her, and an initial in-person meeting with Robin was quickly arranged. After a few phone calls, email correspondence, and another follow-up meeting with her, she came up with the optimal plan because she had a complete understanding of the specifics of my unique health care situation.
During the whole process, Robin was always available, thorough, diligent, and professional, handling my Medicare enrollment (Part B, Supplement, PDP) and dental/vision insurance in a timely manner. If you are retiring and need to get your healthcare Medigap insurance in order, CALL ROBIN!! She was fantastic. She had the answer to almost every question (she looked the one she didn't have), listened to all our concerns before suggesting plans and options, and tailored health insurance for out needs. She know exactly what we needed to do now to avoid problems down the line. And she did it graciously and with a smile. I know I bugged her a bunch of times with questions and concerns, but she always answered with a smile and answered promptly - one answer came on a weekend.
