Nino’s Pastry Shoppe opened in 1996. A new family-owned business, Nino, along with his wife and business partner Jane, worked tirelessly to make a go of Nino’s dream.
Nino was born and raised in Palermo, Sicily. He, along with his family, moved to the United States in 1970, when he was 15 years old. Being one of six children in a new country, not speaking the language, he quickly learned that if you want a piece of the American dream, you have to make things happen for yourself. That is just what he did. Working in various bakeries from Trenton, north Jersey, New York, and Philadelphia, he took everything he learned and made it his own. He changed and altered recipes to make his own creations. He knew that in order to make his recipes the best, he would only use the freshest and highest quality ingredients. He vowed to never skimp on quality for quantity.
Now, 22 years later, he has completely lived up to that standard. He takes extreme pride in his product, and it is he who makes each and every single item by hand. He still works every single day as hard as he did when he first opened.
To this day, he has kept this a family affair by teaching all of his decorating skills to his daughter, Dana, in hopes she will continue his legacy and dream.
